I did a 1/2 marathon yesterday. A 1/2 that I didn’t train for one bit. I finished in 2:40, my worst time ever. But hey, for a person that hasn’t run over 3 miles since November 7th and was sick the week before the 1/2, I didn’t do too bad. Did I mention yet that it was 14 degrees out when we started? I probably didn’t mention yet that after mile 3 I wanted to quit. But I kept going. That’s how serious I am about keeping my new years resolution. It’s only January…I can’t give up on it yet. At around mile 7 I found one of my friends. We stuck together and motivated each other for the rest of the race. She was sick last week too and wanted to quit at mile 4 but we both crossed the finish line together. Now I know exactly where I am (which is out of shape) and where I need to be for my next 1/2.
